Rubber Backer(included) Step1: Ensure that the machine is unplugged prior to beginning any assembly or disassembly procedures on the tool. Step2: Under the largest rotor drum, locate the spindle nut that has flattened edges. Using the provided chuck wrench, hold the nut still while you turn the rotor drum to unscrew it from the spindle. (if you are looking at the uncovered end of the rotor drum, you should turn the drum counter-clockwise). Step3: Begin removing the black plastic safety guard by first removing the two screws at the far front of the guard assembly near the end of the fixed (non-moveable) portion of the arm assembly. Step4: Moving to the area that was uncovered when you removed the main rotor drum, locate the four screws surrounding the spindle and using your screwdriver, unscrew and remove these screws. At this point, you should be able to remove both the black plastic safety guard as well as the arm assemble. Step5: Using the provided chuck wrench, hold the flattened spindle nut stationary and then screw on the rubber backer in much the same way you just removed the rotor drum in step 2. If the Velcro side of the rubber backer is facing you, hold the spindle nut still with the chuxk wrench and turn the backer clockwise to attach it. Step6: Screw the safety handle into the side of the polisher into one of the threaded holes just behind the spindle, near where the cooling vents for the engine assemble are located. (Depending on if you are left or right handed you will want to choose a different side of the machine to attach the safety handle). Congratulations, your Pipe Polisher id now ready to use as a standard multi-purpose grinder/polisher! Switching on/continuous activation: push sliding switch. For continuous activation, now tilt downwards until it engages. Switching off: Press the rear end of the slide switch and release. Suitable for polishing, grinding and cleaning.
